Import from Notion

Move your pages and notes from Notion into Tuhmo with a single export file.

Prepare the file in Notion

In Notion, export a page or the whole workspace as Markdown & CSV. You get one ZIP file. Upload it as is, with no need to unzip it. Exports in HTML or PDF can't be imported.

Import

  1. 1

    Open Settings › Import

  2. 2

Click "Start import" and choose the ZIP file, or drag the file onto this page

  3. 3

Under "Import location", choose a private page, a teamspace, or an existing page to place it inside

  4. 4

Click "Import" and wait until it finishes. Large archives can take several minutes, so keep this page open

When it finishes, you see how many pages were imported. Click "View notes" to go to the pages you just imported. Past imports are listed in the "Done" tab, with who imported them and when.

You can also open the Import page from the ⋯ menu on the Teamspaces heading in the sidebar, or from the ⋯ menu of a note page.

What gets imported

  • Pages and sub-pages: nested the same way as in Notion
  • Toggles become toggle lists, and callouts become callout blocks
  • Headings deeper than level 4 become heading 4
  • Images are uploaded into the page. Other attachments, such as PDFs, become file blocks
  • Databases: rows that have their own page are imported as one note page per row. Tables without row pages become a page with a table

Links to outside websites still work. Links to other pages inside Notion are kept as plain text.

Limits

  • Files up to 300MB, and up to 5,000 pages per import
  • Tables from CSV files import the first 500 rows
  • Images or attachments larger than 20MB each are skipped

This page also imports single files. A .md or .txt file becomes one note page, and a .csv file becomes a page with a table.

On the Free plan, workspaces with 2 or more members can use 2,000 blocks. If an import reaches that limit, it stops, and the pages already imported stay in place.
