Draft a contract and get it signed

Draft a contract in Tuhmo and send your client a link where they can read and sign it online right away.

Create a contract

  1. 1

Go to Contracts in the sidebar and click "New contract", or open the Contracts tab on a project page.

  2. 2

Enter a "Contract title" and optionally pick a "Client", "Project" and "Contract ends" date.

  3. 3

Write the contract on the document. Use "Add block" to add clauses, text or signature lines such as "Signature lines for both parties" or "Signature lines with witness".

Send it for signature

Click "Send to client" in the document header and pick a recipient and channel, just like sending a proposal. Or click ⋯ and choose "Copy contract link" to send it yourself.

How your client signs

  1. 1

Your client opens the link and reads the contract.

  2. 2

They draw their signature in the signature box and type their full name to confirm.

  3. 3

    They click "Sign".

A contract can be signed only once. The signature and name appear on the contract and reach you right away, and your client can download the PDF for their records. If they decline to sign, that answer reaches you right away too.

Statuses and manual updates

Contracts can be Draft, Awaiting signature, Signed or Not signed. Signed contracts show as Active until their end date, then as Ended. If your client signs on paper or replies another way, use "Mark as signed by client" or "Mark as declined by client".

Once a contract passes its end date, the client can no longer sign from the link. Extend "Contract ends" or record the response yourself.
